Brampton has ramped up its fight against speeding with the launch of 50 new Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras, bringing the city one step closer to its target of 185 total cameras by the end of summer.
With this latest rollout, the number of active ASE cameras in Brampton now stands at 150, with a total of 100 new installations planned before the end of 2025.
The speed cameras, which are strategically placed in Community Safety Zones and high-risk areas, automatically ticket drivers exceeding the speed limit. Fines range from $5 per kilometre over the limit for minor infractions to nearly $20 per kilometre for more serious violations — plus administrative costs.
The city says the program is part of its broader commitment to road safety and collision prevention, especially around schools, residential zones, and busy intersections.
Locations for the new ASE units span all wards, including streets like Kingswood Dr., Kennedy Rd., Queen Mary Dr., Peter Robertson Blvd., and McVean Dr., among many others. The cameras are installed across every ward in Brampton and aim to deter speeding and encourage safer driving habits.
