Just days after the season’s biggest snowfall, another major winter storm is set to hit the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Southern Ontario this week, bringing up to 15 cm of snow and strong winds overnight on Wednesday into Thursday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, snowfall is expected to begin Wednesday evening, continuing overnight into Thursday morning, affecting cities across:
Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, and Durham Regions
- Snow Accumulation: Up to 15 cm (with some areas seeing as much as 20 cm)
- Wind Gusts: Up to 45 km/h, reducing visibility
- Temperatures: -3°C on Wednesday, -1°C on Thursday
Road Conditions: Commuters should prepare for hazardous driving conditions, as reduced visibility and slippery roads may cause delays.
Flights at Risk: Toronto Pearson Airport officials are monitoring the storm, warning that the snow could affect flight schedules.
“…we’re keeping an eye on another winter storm forecasted to hit Wednesday night into Thursday morning that could bring up to 20 cm of snow,” Pearson Airport officials posted on X.
