A photo depicting a man defecating at a Brampton gas station has sparked controversy, with former Liberal MP Raj Grewal claiming it is “photoshopped.”
The image, which has gone viral on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), follows a trend of similar posts, including fake claims of people defecating on Ontario beaches.
Raj Grewal, who says he owns the gas station property, firmly denies the incident ever took place. “I own this property. This DID NOT happen, it’s photoshopped,” Grewal posted, urging the original poster to “do better.”
The post was made by Harrison Faulkner from the conservative news outlet True North, who has previously criticized mass immigration in Brampton through his YouTube video titled “Is this Canada or India? Exploring Brampton, Ontario.” Faulkner sarcastically suggested the photo as proof of “Mass immigration totally working” in Canada, challenging Grewal to prove the image’s inauthenticity. This has led to a heated debate online, with both supporters and detractors presenting evidence to back their claims.
Some social media users have labeled the post as “disinformation,” while others find the alleged act “repulsive” and have called for the man’s deportation.
Peel Regional Police are aware of the photo but have yet to confirm if the incident has been officially reported.
