First Big Lotto Win of 2025 in Ontario
A lucky Lotto Max ticket purchased in Etobicoke has claimed the $60 million jackpot, marking Ontario’s first big Lotto Max win of the year.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) confirmed the historic win in a news release this morning.
“The $60 million jackpot is the first Lotto Max jackpot win in Ontario in 2025,” the OLG stated. “In 2024, we celebrated a record-breaking 11 jackpot wins across Ontario, totaling $525 million in Lotto Max prizes.”
In addition to the grand prize, a $1 million Encore ticket was sold in Dufferin County, adding another big win for Ontario players.
The next Lotto Max draw, offering a jackpot of $15 million, is scheduled for January 24, 2025.
Since its launch in 2009, Lotto Max has awarded $8.9 billion in prizes to players across Canada. This includes:
- 111 jackpot wins
- 937 Maxmillions prizes
Ontario’s 2024 record set a high bar, but this year’s first major jackpot win suggests that 2025 could be another banner year for lottery players in the province.
