59 Robberies Reported in Mississauga and Brampton Last Month, 15 Involved Guns

Robberies continue to surge across Mississauga and Brampton, with Peel Regional Police responding to 59 incidents from June 12 to July 12, averaging more than two robberies per day across the region.

According to police data, 33 robberies occurred in Mississauga and 26 in Brampton during the one-month span. Of these:

  • 15 involved firearms
  • 20 involved other weapons
  • 24 were classified as “other” by investigators

As of July 12, 10 of the cases have been solved, while 49 remain under investigation.

The following locations were identified as robbery hotspots:

  • Dundas Street (4 incidents)
  • Dixie Road (2 incidents)
  • Erin Mills Parkway (2 incidents)
  • Mississauga Valley Boulevard (exact number not disclosed)

Several noteworthy cases from the past month include:

  • Toronto teens charged in multiple smash-and-grab robberies in Brampton
  • A 13-year-old among a group charged in a jewelry store robbery
  • A Mississauga man arrested after a violent robbery linked to an online chat
  • A father and son duo charged in connection with a robbery spree in Brampton

Peel Police continue to urge residents and businesses to adopt robbery prevention measures, including:

  • Installing and maintaining functional surveillance systems
  • Ensuring adequate lighting inside and outside properties
  • Providing robbery prevention training for staff
  • Reducing cash on premises with frequent deposits
  • Designing store layouts to maintain clear visibility across aisles
  • Removing window clutter and excessive signage that blocks sightlines

If a robbery occurs, police advise victims to stay safe and immediately contact authorities. Community members are encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
