Mississauga/Brampton – Peel Regional Police data shows that 473 assault-related incidents were reported across Mississauga and Brampton between October 15 and November 15, highlighting ongoing concerns about community safety in Peel Region.
According to police statistics, 210 assaults occurred in Mississauga and 263 in Brampton, averaging more than 15 assault cases per day across both cities.
Police data identifies Dundas Street, Eglinton Avenue, and Kennedy Road as the top three hotspots, with nine incidents each recorded along these major corridors.
While the dataset does not specify the nature of the assaults or the severity of injuries, investigators report that 314 cases have been solved, 89 remain under investigation, and 70 are still unsolved.
Recent notable incidents include:
- A Toronto bouncer charged in a Mississauga sexual assault case
- A man critically injured following an assault with a weapon in Brampton
- A Brampton assault that led to a significant drug seizure and related charges
Peel Regional Police continue to urge residents to remain vigilant and have shared several important safety reminders:
Residents are encouraged to avoid opening doors to unknown individuals, plan well-lit travel routes, stay accompanied whenever possible, lock vehicles promptly, and seek safe public spaces if they suspect they are being followed. Police also advise victims to avoid resisting in the event of a robbery, and instead prioritize getting to safety and calling 911 immediately.
Authorities say maintaining awareness and taking simple precautions can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
