15-Storey Residential Tower Proposed for North Brampton

Brampton — A 15-storey mixed-use residential tower with 242 units and 504 square metres of commercial space has been proposed for Bramalea Road, just south of Mayfield Road in north Brampton.

The 8,132-square-metre site, currently vacant agricultural land at 0 and 11860 Bramalea Road, is owned by 2766321 Ontario Inc. The application, submitted by Gagnon Walker Domes Ltd., seeks amendments to both the official plan and zoning bylaw to allow the development.

City planning staff are recommending approval of the proposal in a report going before the Planning and Development Committee on November 3. The report, authored by planner Simran Sandhu, describes the project as “good planning and in the public interest.”

According to city documents, the tower will include 141 one-bedroom, 90 two-bedroom, and 11 three-bedroom units, along with 278 parking spaces, 12 accessible spaces, and 157 bicycle parking spots.

A holding symbol is recommended to ensure cost-sharing and shared access agreements are finalized with neighbouring landowners before building permits are issued.

The report says the development will help increase Brampton’s housing supply, add diverse housing options, and support mixed-use urban growth while protecting nearby environmentally sensitive lands.
