BRAMPTON, ON – Dr. Mohamed Lachemi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), was today presented with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his exceptional contributions to education, leadership, and community service. The award was presented by Mr. Shafqat Ali, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, during a ceremony held at his office.
Since assuming the role of president in 2016, Dr. Lachemi has been a driving force behind TMU’s transformation into a global leader in higher education. His visionary leadership has led to groundbreaking initiatives such as the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, the Future Skills Centre, and the approval of new law and medical schools. Notably, his efforts to establish a medical school in Brampton are set to create a lasting impact on the community, addressing critical healthcare needs and fostering local talent.
