Food Recall Alert – Christie Mini Ritz Crackers Pulled from Shelves Due to Undeclared Milk

Canadian Food Inspection Agency Investigating Potential Allergen Risk in Popular Snack

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a nationwide recall for Christie brand Original Mini Ritz Crackers, warning consumers that the product may contain undeclared milk, posing a serious risk to individuals with dairy allergies.

The recall, initiated by Mondelez Canada Inc., affects products sold across the country, including major retailers such as Metro and Food Basics. A Metro spokesperson confirmed that all affected products have been removed from store shelves.

Consumer Advisory: Check Your Pantry

The CFIA urges consumers to verify if they have purchased the recalled crackers. Individuals with milk allergies or sensitivities should not consume the product, as it may cause severe or life-threatening allergic reactions.

What to Do If You Have the Recalled Product:

  • Do not eat it if you have a milk allergy or sensitivity.
  • Do not serve, use, sell, or distribute the affected product.
  • Dispose of it properly or return it to the store for a refund.

As of now, there have been no reported allergic reactions linked to the consumption of the product. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which could potentially lead to further recalls of related items. The agency is also ensuring that retailers and distributors remove the affected products from circulation.
