A Mississauga man has been charged with attempted murder following a violent altercation that ended in a shooting during a neighbour dispute on January 24.
The incident occurred near Rathburn Road West and Perivale Road, just south of Highway 403 and west of Mavis Road. Peel Regional Police (PRP) responded to a call at approximately 10 a.m., where an argument between two individuals escalated, resulting in one person being shot.
The victim was rushed to a trauma centre but is expected to make a full recovery, police confirmed.
The following day, PRP executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, uncovering numerous firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other weapons.
Police arrested 62-year-old Richard Loo of Mississauga, charging him with 10 offences, including:
- Attempted murder
- Aggravated assault
- Weapons-related offences
Loo remains in custody pending a bail hearing at a Brampton court.
