Tiger Woods Announces the Passing of His Mother, Kultida Woods

Golf legend Tiger Woods has announced the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, describing her as a “force of nature” and his greatest supporter throughout his life and career. Kultida, 80, passed away on Tuesday morning, just one week after she was last seen attending Woods’ indoor TMRW Golf League event in Florida.

In a heartfelt social media post, Woods paid tribute to his Thai-born mother, reflecting on her unwavering support and strong-willed spirit that helped shape his remarkable journey in professional golf.

“My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, and without her, none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.”

While Woods did not disclose the cause of her passing, her loss marks another deeply personal moment for the 15-time major champion, who previously lost his father, Earl Woods, in 2006.

Kultida Woods played a pivotal role in her son’s life, from driving him to junior golf tournaments in California to standing by his side through his record-breaking career. Often seen at major tournaments wearing her signature wide-brimmed visor and sunglasses, she was known for her quiet yet steadfast presence, always cheering for her son’s success.

She moved to South Florida when Woods relocated from Orlando to Jupiter, maintaining a close bond with her son and grandchildren.

Among those expressing their condolences was former U.S. President Donald Trump, who posted on Truth Social, calling Kultida “an amazing influence” on Woods.

As the sports world mourns the loss of a beloved figure in Tiger Woods’ life, tributes continue to pour in from fans, fellow athletes, and members of the golfing community.
