On Saturday, February 1, 2025, Premier Doug Ford officially opened the campaign office of Charmaine Williams, the Progressive Conservative candidate for Brampton Centre, to a crowd of over 200 enthusiastic supporters chanting “Four more years.”
In his address, Premier Ford emphasized the critical importance of unity in opposing the recent 25% tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Canadian goods—a move he has previously described as “unjustified, unfair, and frankly illegal.” Ford warned that these tariffs could severely impact Ontario’s economy, potentially costing thousands of jobs in the automotive sector. He stated, “We will never be for sale,” underscoring Canada’s resolve to stand firm against external economic pressures.

Charmaine Williams, seeking re-election, called upon the community to rally behind her campaign. She expressed her dedication to serving Brampton Centre and emphasized the need for strong leadership during these challenging times. Williams stated, “Together, we can overcome any obstacle and ensure a prosperous future for our community.”

Among the attendees was Gian Paul, chairperson of the Mukti Foundation, who voiced his support for Williams’ re-election. He remarked, “Charmaine has been a steadfast advocate for our community, and her leadership is needed now more than ever.”
Concluding the event, Charmaine Williams extended her heartfelt gratitude to all present, including media representatives and members from all communities. She affirmed her commitment to inclusivity and collaboration, stating, “Thank you for standing with us. Together, we will build a brighter future for everyone in Brampton Centre.”
