Oakville is set to welcome its second Walmart Supercentre later this year, as Walmart Canada announces plans to open a new location in the southern Ontario city by late 2025.
The new Supercentre will feature an extensive selection of Walmart’s signature offerings, including clothing, housewares, electronics, and a full grocery department stocked with fresh produce, meat, frozen foods, dairy, bakery items, and dry goods. The location will also house a licensed pharmacy, providing convenient health and wellness services.
In a modern twist, the new store will offer Walmart’s Hot Kitchen, serving up fresh, hot meals for customers on the go—an addition not available at the older location at SmartCentres Oakville.
The new store will occupy the site of the former Target store, adding to the community’s shopping options while revitalizing a well-known space.
Walmart has already begun recruiting for various roles at the new location. Positions available include cashiers, self-checkout attendants, pharmacy staff, produce stockers, and more. Job seekers can find listings and apply online for an opportunity to join the Walmart team.
