At the stroke of midnight, Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga celebrated the arrival of the first baby of 2025. A baby boy was delivered at Mississauga Hospital, marking a heartwarming start to the new year.

Baby Harper Arrives Minutes Later
Just minutes after midnight, North York General Hospital in Toronto welcomed baby Harper, weighing seven pounds and 14 ounces. Parents Chris and Machaela O’Heir expressed their joy as Harper joined their growing family, including older brother Oliver, who was also born at the same hospital.
“Best wishes and congratulations to the O’Heir family,” the hospital tweeted.
Brampton Civic Hospital’s New Arrival
At 6:01 a.m., Brampton Civic Hospital, part of the William Osler Health System, announced the birth of a baby girl to parents Awa Sinyan and Amadou Sanneh. The baby weighed seven pounds and 3.5 ounces.
“Osler extends its best wishes and congratulations to the new parents and their family,” the hospital shared.
A Newborn at Etobicoke General Hospital
Later in the morning, at 6:30 a.m., Etobicoke General Hospital celebrated the birth of a baby boy weighing six pounds and seven ounces. Parents Jahanara Samia and Mohammad Shohag expressed their happiness at welcoming their bundle of joy.
“Best wishes and congratulations to the new parents and to all families welcoming new babies at this special time,” William Osler Health System said in a statement.
