The City of Brampton is thrilled to announce the commencement of construction on the Downtown Brampton Streetscape Project, a key part of the city’s broader efforts to revitalize the downtown core. The project, which will run through to 2027, aims to create a more accessible and inviting environment by widening sidewalks, enhancing street furniture, and modernizing public infrastructure.
Councillor Paul Vicente highlighted the project’s significance, stating, “The Downtown Brampton Streetscape Project will strengthen our community by improving accessibility and fostering business growth. This initiative represents a long-term investment in our city’s future.”
Mayor Patrick Brown added, “This project is crucial to our city’s development. By enhancing our downtown spaces, we’re supporting local businesses, promoting economic growth, and making Brampton a more vibrant place for residents and visitors alike.”
The revitalization plan also includes improvements to traffic infrastructure, including new signals at major intersections, upgraded sidewalks with granite pavers, and expanded public spaces. The city has outlined phased construction to minimize disruptions, ensuring that businesses will remain accessible throughout the construction period.
The City of Brampton encourages residents to engage with the project and share their ideas for the revitalized downtown. More information and ongoing updates can be found on the city’s project webpage.
