Motorcycle Left Hanging From Traffic Light After Dramatic Crash in Delta, B.C.

A shocking motorcycle collision in Delta left a motorcycle suspended from a traffic light, drawing widespread attention across social media and prompting a major emergency response over the weekend.

According to Delta Police Department, officers responded to the crash near the 7100 block of Scott Road shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said the motorcyclist sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the incident was not injured.

Investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the collision.

The unusual crash scene stunned witnesses after the blue motorcycle became lodged high above the roadway, hanging vertically from the overhead traffic signal structure.

Emergency crews from Delta Firefighters IAFF Local 1763 assisted at the scene by providing patient care, ensuring public safety and later removing the damaged motorcycle from the traffic light.

In a statement shared publicly, firefighters expressed concern for everyone impacted by the incident.

“Incidents like this are difficult for everyone involved, and our thoughts are with the drivers, passengers, their loved ones, and all those impacted,” the union stated while wishing the injured rider a full recovery.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the crash.
