Pakistan announced Tuesday that it successfully carried out a training launch of its indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system, marking another step in the country’s domestic defence capabilities.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the launch was conducted by the Army Rocket Force Command and was intended for troop training, technical validation and performance assessment of upgraded systems designed to improve accuracy and survivability.
Military officials said the Fateh-II is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigation systems. Senior officers, defence scientists and engineers were present to observe the exercise.
Pakistan’s leadership, including Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir, praised the teams involved in the launch and highlighted their technical expertise and commitment.
The test comes one week after the Pakistan Navy reported a successful live firing of the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile, an anti-ship weapon system intended to strengthen maritime strike capabilities.
The latest launch reflects Pakistan’s broader push to expand self-reliance in defence production while demonstrating readiness across land, sea and strategic systems.
