Violent Home Invasion Crew Sought After Early-Morning Attacks in Burlington and Oakville

Police are searching for five suspects believed to be behind two violent home invasion incidents that unfolded within hours of each other in Oakville and Burlington.

According to Halton Regional Police Service, the first incident happened around 3:00 a.m. in Oakville, where the group allegedly attempted to force entry into a home using a hammer. The homeowner called 911, prompting the suspects to flee before officers arrived.

Roughly 45 minutes later, investigators say the same group targeted a residence in Burlington’s Roseland neighbourhood.

Police allege the suspects smashed a glass panel on the front door, reached inside to unlock it and entered the home. Once inside, they were confronted by residents and demanded valuables.

A struggle followed, during which one resident was reportedly struck in the head with an unknown object and required medical attention. The confrontation caused the suspects to run from the scene before taking anything.

Investigators say all five suspects were dressed in hoodies and balaclavas and were seen travelling in a dark-coloured sedan.

Police are now appealing for surveillance or dashcam footage from the affected areas during the early morning hours of April 22. They are especially interested in video from the vicinity of Royal Windsor Drive and Ford Drive in Oakville, and New Street between Walkers Line and Guelph Line, as well as Rossmore Boulevard in Burlington.

The incidents add to growing concern across the GTA over violent home invasions targeting residential neighbourhoods during overnight hours.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact investigators with the criminal investigations bureau.
