A leading real estate professional from Brampton has been appointed to one of the top positions in Canada’s housing industry.
Garry Bhaura has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Canadian Real Estate Association, the national body representing realtors across the country.
He was selected during the organization’s recent annual general meeting.
Bhaura is the president and broker of record at RE/MAX President Realty and brings more than 25 years of experience in the real estate sector.
According to CREA, he is widely respected for his leadership, community involvement and long-standing contributions to the profession. Among his honours is the Community Service Award from the Real Estate Institute of Canada.
He has also previously served as president of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board from 2018 to 2019 and has held roles on several industry committees and boards.
CREA represents more than 155,000 realtors nationwide and plays a major role in advocacy, policy discussions and support for buyers, sellers and homeowners across Canada.
The appointment is being seen as a proud moment for Brampton’s business community, placing a local industry leader at the helm of one of Canada’s most influential professional organizations.
