Tee Time Returns: Mississauga’s Golf Season Kicks Off with BraeBen and Lakeview Openings

With spring finally settling in and warmer days drawing residents outdoors, golf enthusiasts across Mississauga have a reason to celebrate as the city’s popular municipal courses prepare to welcome players back for another season. The reopening of these well-loved greens signals not just the return of the sport, but the revival of a cherished outdoor tradition for communities across the region.

Leading the way is BraeBen Golf Course, set to open its 18-hole championship course on April 13, followed shortly by its driving range and nine-hole Academy course on April 17. Located in the heart of the city’s bustling Heartland area, BraeBen offers more than just a round of golf—it delivers sweeping views from its elevated range and a modern playing experience that continues to evolve with ongoing upgrades. From improved teeing areas to enhanced cart paths and a refreshed pro shop layout, golfers can expect both performance and comfort as they step onto the course this season.

Just days later, on April 16, the historic Lakeview Golf Course will open its fairways, inviting players to experience one of the region’s most scenic and storied courses. Nestled in the city’s southeast and steeped in more than a century of golfing heritage, Lakeview blends tradition with thoughtful modernization. Recent improvements, including upgraded lighting, a newly repaved parking area, and refreshed clubhouse amenities, reflect the city’s commitment to enhancing the golfer experience while preserving the course’s classic character.

Lakeview’s legacy stretches back to the early 1900s, making it not just a place to play, but a living piece of local history. Its parkland-style design, rolling greens, and subtle challenges have long made it a favourite among both casual players and seasoned golfers. For many in the community, a round at Lakeview is as much about nostalgia as it is about sport.

Beyond recreation, the reopening of these courses plays a vital role in community well-being. As more residents seek outdoor activities that combine fitness, relaxation, and social connection, golf continues to stand out as an accessible and rewarding option. Programs such as junior camps, clinics, and professional lessons further strengthen the sport’s appeal, helping nurture the next generation of players while keeping longtime enthusiasts engaged.

As tee times open and clubs come out of storage, the message is clear—golf season has officially arrived in Mississauga. And with upgraded facilities, rich history, and scenic landscapes waiting, it promises to be a season that brings people together, one swing at a time.
