The City of Brampton is now accepting new and renewal applications for its 2026 Affiliated Neighbourhood Associations Program, continuing an initiative that has helped establish more than 52 neighbourhood groups across the city.
The program supports resident-led associations that work to strengthen community safety, connection and well-being. Affiliated Neighbourhood Associations are also eligible for funding through the Nurturing Neighbourhood Grant. First-time applicants may receive up to $1,500, while associations renewing their affiliation after participating in 2024 or 2025 can qualify for up to $2,000.
Residents can participate by joining an existing association or starting a new one in their neighbourhood. New and returning groups can apply online until April 30. A city map and directory are available to help residents find associations in their area.
An Affiliated Neighbourhood Association is defined as a volunteer group of at least 20 residents from the same neighbourhood. Each affiliated group is supported by a staff member from the city’s Community Safety and Well-Being Office, who provides guidance and resources.
In 2025, the program supported 52 associations with approximately $90,000 in grants, resulting in 85 neighbourhood projects citywide. These included community barbecues, wellness sessions, litter cleanups, educational seminars and grocery giveaways for families in need.
The city is also encouraging residents to use the Neighbourhood Association Guide, available in multiple languages, and to complete the Community Safety Survey to help shape Brampton’s next Community Safety Action Plan.
