Toronto police are searching for a 34-year-old man accused of abducting his two-year-old son and leaving Canada without the consent of the child’s mother.
Investigators say Modupe Owaseye travelled with his son, Emmanuel, to Ethiopia on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025. Police allege Owaseye did not have permission from the boy’s mother to take the child out of the country.
Owaseye is now wanted on a charge of abduction of a person under 16.
Police released photographs of the father and son and are appealing to the public for assistance in locating them.
Owaseye is described as 5-foot-7, approximately 150 pounds, with short brown hair and a clean-shaven face. He was last seen wearing a grey sweater and black pants.
Emmanuel is described as 2 feet tall, last seen wearing a black hat, a green sweater with white teddy bears, beige pants, and black running shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-2300, or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477 or online.
