Starbucks Canada is bringing back one of its most popular annual traditions: Red Cup Day. On Thursday, Nov. 13, customers who order any size handcrafted holiday or fall beverage — hot, iced, or blended — will receive a free 16-ounce reusable red cup at participating cafés, while supplies last.
The giveaway excludes brewed coffee and tea, but includes the full lineup of festive favourites, from Peppermint Mochas and Gingerbread Lattes to Sugar Cookie Oat Lattes, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, holiday cold foams, and more.
Starbucks says extra baristas will be on hand to keep lines moving as customers rush in for the collectible cup, which has become a fan-favourite item each holiday season.
This year’s design — made from 95% recycled material — features a hand-drawn illustration by Starbucks designer Yvonne Chan. She says the artwork is meant to capture “the little moment of magic you feel when you step into a Starbucks from the cold outside.”
Red Cup Day has become a viral event for Starbucks fans, especially following the hype around this year’s Bearista cup. And the perks don’t end on Thursday: customers who bring back any clean reusable cup — including the new red cup — will receive a 10-cent discount on future beverage purchases.
Festive drink lovers take note: supplies are limited, and once the cups are gone, they’re gone.
