Durham police are searching for a suspect after an e-scooter was stolen from the Whitby GO Station last month.
The theft took place on September 17 between 11:30 a.m. and noon at the station’s bike rack storage area on Brock Street South. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect fleeing the scene shortly after the theft.
The man is described as white, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with medium-length hair and a goatee. At the time, he was wearing a blue and grey Toronto Maple Leafs hat, a red bandana, a grey t-shirt, black sweatpants, and white and black running shoes. He was also carrying a dark-coloured backpack.
Police are appealing to the public for any cellphone, dashcam, or surveillance footage that could assist in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Sharma of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520, extension 1811.
