Toronto police are searching for five masked suspects after a dramatic jewelry store robbery at Dufferin Mall on Saturday evening that left shoppers stunned but caused no physical injuries.
Officers were called to the mall, located near Dufferin Street and Bloor Street West, shortly after 7:22 p.m., following reports of a violent smash-and-grab.
According to investigators, two of the suspects were armed with hammers, which they used to shatter glass display cases inside the store before grabbing an undisclosed amount of jewelry and other merchandise. The group then fled the scene in a dark-coloured vehicle, police said.
No one was physically injured during the robbery, and authorities have not released any information on the total value of the stolen goods. Descriptions of the suspects have not yet been made public.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant video footage to come forward as the investigation continues.
