Amazon is set to bring a hiring boost to Peel Region this holiday season, announcing plans to recruit more than 1,900 seasonal employees across Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. The positions are part of a Canada-wide effort by the e-commerce giant to add over 7,000 temporary jobs to meet heightened demand through the end of the year.
According to an Amazon spokesperson, recruitment will begin this month and continue in waves through December, with jobs spread across the company’s ten sites in Peel Region. Seasonal roles include stowing, picking, packing, sorting, and shipping customer orders — critical tasks during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
The company also announced a pay increase for eligible frontline employees. Wages will rise to $24.50 per hour, representing a 4.3 per cent jump over 2024 levels, along with expanded workplace benefits.
With thousands of positions available nationwide and nearly a quarter of them concentrated in Peel, Amazon’s seasonal hiring surge is expected to provide a significant temporary employment boost in the region. Job seekers can find more information about postings directly through Amazon’s recruitment channels.
