Toronto transit riders just got one more reason to combine errands — they can now pick up a new Presto card while doing their grocery shopping.
Metrolinx announced Tuesday that No Frills has joined the growing list of retailers offering Presto services in-store. The pilot program launched Sept. 15 in select Toronto and Ottawa neighbourhoods, allowing customers to buy and load cards during their grocery run.
In Toronto, Presto services are currently available at:
- Jordan’s No Frills – 1022 King St. W.
- Carlo’s No Frills – 6220 Yonge St.
- John’s No Frills – 1591 Wilson Ave.
The partnership builds on existing arrangements with other Loblaw-owned retailers, such as Shopper’s Drug Mart and Loblaws, where customers have long been able to purchase and reload cards.
A new Presto card costs $4, the same as at TTC self-serve machines inside subway stations. Metrolinx says it plans to expand the program to more No Frills locations if the pilot proves successful.
