Armed with Axe: Suspects Caught on Camera in Vaughan Home Invasion

York Regional Police have released shocking video footage showing four suspects breaking into a Vaughan home early Wednesday morning, one of them wielding an axe.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Timber Creek Boulevard and Major Mackenzie Drive West. Security footage shows a masked suspect approaching the home’s front door and smashing the glass side panel with an axe. He then reached through the hole to unlock the door, allowing himself and three others to storm inside.

Police said the intruders demanded property from the occupants but ultimately left empty-handed. Moments later, all four suspects were seen fleeing to a waiting black SUV and driving off.

Fortunately, no one inside the home was physically injured during the ordeal.

Investigators have released descriptions of the suspects:

  • The man with the axe wore all black with a white T-shirt under his hoodie and a black mask.
  • A second suspect wore a black hoodie, pants, and mask, along with white shoes and black-and-white gloves.
  • A third suspect had a grey and navy hoodie, navy pants with white stripes, a white mask, black gloves, and white shoes.
  • The fourth carried an expandable baton and wore all black clothing with white gloves.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspects or their vehicle to come forward.

Would you like me to also draft a community safety advisory that could be shared with Vaughan residents, highlighting precautions to take after this kind of targeted break-in?
