Toronto Farm Boy Temporarily Closed After Failing Food Handling Inspection

A Farm Boy grocery store in midtown Toronto has been temporarily shut down after failing a DineSafe inspection.

According to the City of Toronto’s inspection notice, the store at 2149 Yonge Street was found to be “maintained in manner permitting health hazard (Rodents)” and failed to protect food from contamination or prevent the harbouring of pests. Inspectors also recorded a minor infraction for not keeping the food handling room in a sanitary condition.

The infractions were deemed “an immediate health hazard that cannot be corrected during an inspection,” leading to the red card closure on September 8, 2025.

Records show the location has faced multiple inspections over the past year, including three conditional passes related to pest control issues.

Farm Boy’s website notes the store will remain closed Monday and Tuesday of this week.
