Brampton Man Charged in Sex Trafficking Case Linked to Local Spa

Peel Regional Police have laid charges against a Brampton man following a sex trafficking investigation that began after two women reported being pressured to perform sexual services at their workplace.

Police said the victims, both employed as estheticians at Cozy VR Spa in Brampton—a business combining virtual reality with spa services—came forward on August 25, 2025. The women told investigators they were initially hired to provide legitimate treatments but were soon urged by their employer to offer sexual favours as “add-on” services to boost profits.

That same day, 30-year-old Zain Al A’Rafreen of Brampton was arrested. He faces two counts of procuring and two counts of exercising control, direction or influence over the victims, offences under Canada’s Criminal Code. Al A’Rafreen was held in custody and made a court appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Investigators with the Specialized Enforcement Bureau’s VICE unit believe there may be additional victims or witnesses and are urging anyone with information to contact them at 905-453-2121, ext. 3454. Information can also be provided anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at peelcrimestoppers.ca.
