Toronto Police have arrested and charged two 17-year-old males with second-degree murder following the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Daniel Amalathas at Scarborough Town Centre on August 21, 2025.
Amalathas was discovered injured inside a washroom at the shopping mall and was pronounced dead at the scene. His death marks Toronto’s 27th homicide of 2025.
The two suspects, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were arrested on Thursday and are scheduled to appear today in the Ontario Court of Justice.
