Six Teens and Adult Hurt in Serious Hamilton Crash; One Fighting for Life

HAMILTON — Six teenagers and one adult were injured in a serious collision in Flamborough on Tuesday afternoon, with one female now in life-threatening condition, Hamilton Police say.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at Valens Road and Concession 5 West, when a Kia minivan carrying six people collided with a Volvo commercial vehicle.

All six occupants of the Kia — the driver and five teenage passengers — were taken to local hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious. One female teen remains in critical condition. The lone male driver of the Volvo was also transported to hospital as a precaution.

Police have ruled out impairment but are investigating speed and failure to obey a stop sign as possible factors in the crash.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage, or surveillance video from nearby properties along Concession 5 West. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Office at 905-546-4753 or reconunit@hamiltonpolice.ca. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppershamilton.com.
