Veteran Fire Leader Andy Glynn Named Interim Chief of Brampton Fire & Emergency Services

The City of Brampton has appointed Andy Glynn as Interim Fire Chief of Brampton Fire & Emergency Services (BFES), effective August 25, 2025. A seasoned leader with more than 35 years in municipal and provincial fire services, Glynn is tasked with providing operational stability while advancing the development of the BFES team.

Glynn previously served 17 years as Deputy Fire Chief with the Oakville Fire Department, where he oversaw Emergency Management, Administration, Training, Fire Prevention, and Public Education. He coordinated emergency response during the COVID-19 pandemic, led major capital projects, and provided strategic oversight for emergency planning at high-profile events. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles with Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal, and his contributions have been recognized with honours including the OAFC Mark Diotte Leadership Award.

City officials thanked BFES staff and leadership for their continued dedication during this transition and said they look forward to working with Glynn to strengthen service delivery for residents.
