Brampton Woman Finds $100K Lottery Win While Cleaning Out Her Handbag

What started as a simple tidy-up turned into a life-changing moment for Sarabjit Singh of Brampton. The longtime lottery player matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the February 7 Lotto Max draw, winning $100,000.

Singh, who works as an aircraft groomer, had purchased the ticket as part of her weekly routine at Gateway Newstands on Peel Centre Drive. The morning after the draw, while cleaning out her handbag, she came across the ticket and decided to scan it with the OLG app. “I was completely shocked when it turned out to be a winner. I checked it twice just to be sure,” she said.

A loyal player of Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Ontario 49, and Daily Grand, Singh always adds Encore to her tickets — a habit that paid off in a big way. She plans to use the windfall to pay off bills and treat herself to a vacation.

“Being a winner feels amazing,” Singh said, still savoring the surprise that had been hiding in her bag all along.
