Justin Rose Wins FedEx St. Jude in Playoff; Dean Burmester Takes LIV Golf Chicago as Global Golf Week Sees Multiple Champions

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Justin Rose produced a stunning late charge to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, overcoming a three-shot deficit over the final five holes and defeating U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun in a tense playoff. Rose birdied four straight holes down the stretch, nearly clinched the win in regulation, and sealed victory with a 10-foot birdie putt on the third extra hole. His 24th worldwide victory returns him to the world’s top 10 and secures his Ryder Cup place. Spaun closed with a 65 to force the playoff, while Tommy Fleetwood and Scottie Scheffler finished one shot short.

In Illinois, Dean Burmester overcame a rough start to win LIV Golf Chicago, defeating Jon Rahm and Josele Ballester in a playoff with a 6-foot birdie on the first extra hole. Burmester, who rallied from three consecutive opening bogeys, claimed his second LIV Golf title and $4 million in prize money. His Stinger GC also captured the team title in a playoff against Torque GC.

In Scotland, Grant Forrest secured his second European Tour title with a four-shot win at the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links, receiving a congratulatory video call from course owner Donald Trump.

On the PGA Tour Champions, Steve Allan birdied the 18th hole for a 7-under 65 and a one-shot victory at the Boeing Classic in Snoqualmie, Washington—his third win of the season.

The Korn Ferry Tour’s Pinnacle Bank Championship in Omaha saw Christo Lamprecht earn his first title with a clutch bunker hole-out for birdie on the final hole.

At the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Bandon, Oregon, Megha Ganne claimed her first USGA title with a commanding 4-and-3 win over Brooke Biermann.

Other winners from around the golfing world included Laura Fuenfstueck at the PIF London Championship (Ladies European Tour), Oihan Guillamoundeguy at the Irish Challenge (Challenge Tour), Michael Brennan at the BioSteel Championship (PGA Tour Americas), Michael Hollick at the FNB Eswatini Challenge (Sunshine Tour), Yui Kawamoto at the Hokkaido Meiji Cup (Japan LPGA), and Jiwon Ko at the Jeju Samdasoo Masters (Korea LPGA).
