Canada Swelters: Heat Wave Grips Four Provinces and Parts of B.C.

Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada, and parts of British Columbia are set to endure another day of intense heat and humidity, with Environment Canada warnings blanketing large swaths of the country.

In southern Ontario, the alert stretches north past Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, extending east through southern Quebec, where daytime highs could soar to 35°C, with humidex readings near 40°C.

The heat dome extends into Atlantic Canada, covering most of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and sections of Newfoundland and Labrador. New Brunswick could feel the brunt of it, with humidex values making it feel like a scorching 42°C.

Meanwhile, in British Columbia, warnings remain in effect for much of Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and parts of southern B.C., including the Fraser Canyon, South Thompson, and South Okanagan regions.

Authorities urge residents to stay hydrated, seek shade, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion as the oppressive weather continues to grip the country.
