Brampton Residents Can Now Explore Park Projects with New Interactive Tool

Brampton residents now have a new way to stay in the loop on local park upgrades and recreation construction — all thanks to a user-friendly interactive map.

Launched by the City of Brampton, the digital tool gives real-time updates on more than 80 parks and recreation projects currently underway, with more planned for the future. Whether it’s new playgrounds, splash pads, field domes, or enhancements to sports courts and trails, the map helps residents find out what’s happening — and when.

With this new feature, users can easily see which park facilities are open, what improvements are being made, and the estimated completion timelines. Key sites include the Chris Gibson Recreation Centre and Cassie Campbell Field Hockey Dome, among others.

According to the City, this initiative brings greater transparency and convenience to the city’s infrastructure planning. Residents can search the map by neighbourhood or project type, with updates available as each site progresses through development milestones.

Projects fall into four main categories:

  • Park – New Development: Splash pads, rinks, fitness equipment
  • Park – Revitalization: Playground replacements, trail and court upgrades
  • Recreation – New Development: Recreation centres, youth hubs, community parks
  • Recreation – Revitalization: Facility renovations and amenity repairs

In addition to the map, the city is inviting public feedback through a survey open until December 1, 2025. Residents can share ideas for future park amenities and upgrades they’d like to see in their neighbourhoods.

Regional Councillor Rowena Santos, chair of the city’s community services section, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “This tool allows residents to become active participants in shaping their neighbourhoods — not only by seeing what’s being built but by sharing input on what’s needed.”
