Canada has once again proven its international allure—this time ranking as the second most popular dream travel destination for U.K. travellers, according to a new survey conducted by British travel company Travelbag.
The survey revealed that 46% of U.K. residents are planning “bucket list holidays” this year, with Canada attracting 31% of respondents, just behind Japan at 32%. Travelbag’s report praises Canada for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor experiences, making it a top pick for adventurous and nature-loving tourists.
From the towering peaks of the Rockies to the turquoise waters of Banff and the iconic roar of Niagara Falls, Canada’s vast and unspoiled wilderness remains a major draw for global visitors. The country’s vibrant cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal further enhance its appeal with rich cultural offerings and modern comforts.
While Japan led the list thanks to its unique blend of ancient traditions and modern wonders, Canada’s close second-place finish reflects its enduring popularity and travel appeal across all seasons.
Australia came in third with 30%, recognized for its once-in-a-lifetime sights like the Great Barrier Reef and the scenic Gold Coast.
In a supporting trend, Statistics Canada reports that visitors from the U.K. made up the largest group of overseas tourists in May 2025, with more than 78,000 British travellers arriving in Canada that month. Indian visitors followed in second, then tourists from France and Australia.
Whether it’s hiking in the Rockies, sailing through the coastal waters of British Columbia, or enjoying cosmopolitan life in Canadian cities, travellers from the U.K. seem to be dreaming big—and Canada is high on their list.
