Golf season has officially arrived in Mississauga—even if a few snowflakes are still falling in parts of the region. For local golfers itching to hit the greens, the City of Mississauga is opening its two municipally operated courses for the 2025 season, with one already welcoming players as of today.
BraeBen Championship Golf Course, located at 5700 Terry Fox Way, opened on Friday, April 11, kicking off the season with its 18-hole, par-72 layout. The course stretches across 6,335 yards and is known not just for its challenging design, but also for its elevated views of Mississauga’s growing skyline. Set on the site of a former municipal landfill in the Heartland area, BraeBen has become a favourite for both seasoned golfers and casual players.
Just a few days later, on Wednesday, April 16, Lakeview Golf Course will open its gates at 1190 Dixie Road in southeast Mississauga. A hidden gem with deep roots in Canadian golf history, Lakeview is a 118-year-old parkland-style course that has twice hosted the Canadian Open and is recognized as an Ontario Heritage site. Designed by Herbert Strong—a founding member of the PGA of America—Lakeview’s sloping greens and traditional layout offer both charm and challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Also opening on April 16 is the BraeBen Driving Range, with the BraeBen 9-hole Academy Course following shortly behind on April 25, providing more options for those looking to fine-tune their swing or enjoy a quicker round.
Mississauga residents can also take advantage of several benefits this season. Locals receive discounted green fees simply by showing proof of residency and can book tee times one hour earlier than non-residents—starting at 8 p.m., seven days in advance. To qualify, players must have their customer profile updated through the city’s online booking system.
