City of Brampton Celebrates Groundbreaking for Second Hospital and Peel Memorial’s 100th Anniversary

Today, the City of Brampton proudly celebrated a historic milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for Brampton’s second hospital at the Peel Memorial site. This landmark project significantly expands health care services for the city’s rapidly growing population, coinciding with Peel Memorial’s 100th anniversary of serving the community.

The Province of Ontario has committed an unprecedented $2.3 billion towards this essential health care project, spearheaded by William Osler Health System and its Foundation. This investment ensures Brampton’s health care infrastructure meets current and future demands.

In support, the City’s 2025 Budget has allocated $10 million for the TMU School of Medicine and dedicated $81.1 million in reserves and $4.9 million in levies toward Peel Memorial’s transformation. These strategic investments underscore Brampton’s commitment to accessible, high-quality health care.

Last year’s Hockey Night in Brampton, organized by Mayor Patrick Brown, raised an impressive $14 million for William Osler Health System Foundation, highlighting Brampton’s robust community spirit and generosity. This year’s event is scheduled for August 20, 2025.
