Mississauga MPPs Natalia Kusendova-Bashta & Nina Tangri Retain Key Roles in Doug Ford’s Cabinet

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has unveiled his new cabinet, with two familiar Mississauga MPPs Natalia Kusendova-Bashta and Nina Tangri maintaining their key positions in his government.

Mississauga-Centre MPP Natalia Kusendova-Bashta will continue serving as Minister of Long-Term Care, a role she took on in June last year. Previously, she served as the parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Long-Term Care and the Minister of Seniors and Accessibility.

Mississauga-Streetsville MPP Nina Tangri will also retain her position as Associate Minister of Small Business, operating within the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade.

The two Mississauga MPPs were sworn in alongside their cabinet colleagues during a 90-minute ceremony at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.

Premier Doug Ford emphasized that his cabinet remains focused on protecting Ontario’s economy, especially in response to U.S. tariffs, while driving job growth and investment across the province.

“As Ontario faces one of the greatest challenges in our history, workers and families are counting on us to stand up for their jobs and well-being,” Ford said in a news release. “Our government will double down on our plan to build, train, and reskill workers for better jobs and bigger paycheques, remove internal trade barriers, and attract new investments. We will also cut through red tape to develop Ontario’s vast natural resources, including critical minerals in the Ring of Fire. No matter what, we will protect Ontario.”

With many familiar faces returning to cabinet, Ford aims to strengthen his government’s economic and workforce development strategies, keeping Ontario competitive on a global scale.
