Tikka Trouble: PC Blue Menu Chicken Masala Yanked from Shelves Over Hidden Almonds

A spicy snag has hit grocery aisles nationwide: the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has pulled PC Blue Menu Chicken Tikka Masala from stores due to undeclared almonds, a sneaky risk for nut allergy sufferers. “Don’t use, sell, serve, or toss it out,” the CFIA warned in its March 11 recall notice.

Loblaw Companies Limited, the retail giant behind the product, confirmed the 350-gram packs—UPC 0 60383 18241 0, best before November 12, 2025—were sold across its sprawling network. That includes heavyweights like Loblaws, No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, Zehrs, Fortinos, Your Independent Grocer, Valu-Mart, Maxi, Provigo, Dominion, and more. If it’s a Loblaw banner, it’s likely affected.

“Food safety’s our top priority,” Loblaw said in a statement. “We’ve swept these off our shelves nationwide.” The recall’s a done deal at stores, but if you’ve got one stashed at home, it’s time to ditch it or return it.

Got a gripe or a reaction? The CFIA’s online portal is open for food concerns, and Health Canada’s Consumer Product Incident Report Form awaits any health or safety tales tied to this tikka twist. For the latest on recalls, check Health Canada and CFIA updates online.
