Charmaine Williams, the Progressive Conservative (PC) candidate for Brampton Centre, celebrates the historic endorsements from three major unions, collectively representing nearly 250,000 workers across Ontario, for the PC Party’s comprehensive plan to protect and advance the province.
For the first time, the Carpenters’ Regional Council has endorsed the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party and Premier Doug Ford. Jason Rowe, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Carpenters’ Regional Council, highlighted this landmark decision, stating, “This decision was not made lightly, but it reflects a reality we cannot ignore: no government in recent memory has recognized and supported skilled trades as strongly as Doug Ford’s has.”
Similarly, the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 793 has expressed robust support for the PC Party’s platform. Business Manager Mike Gallagher emphasized the union’s confidence in the current leadership, noting, “I have great confidence in an Ontario led by Premier Ford and in our country to stand together, as we have always done, and continue to build our province.”
Additionally, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1687 has endorsed the PC Party, citing the government’s commitment to addressing critical issues such as U.S. tariffs and support for the trades. Business Manager and Financial Secretary Kevin Gaudaur remarked, “We need a leader who understands these challenges and is committed to fighting for fair trade and supporting our members.”
These endorsements underscore the PC Party’s dedication to job security, economic growth, and the advancement of skilled trades in Ontario. The collaborative efforts between the government and unions have led to significant investments in training programs and workforce development, ensuring a prosperous future for Ontario’s workers.

Reflecting on these developments, Charmaine Williams stated, “The unwavering support from these esteemed unions is a testament to our government’s strong leadership and commitment to protecting Ontario’s workforce. Together, we are building a resilient economy that offers opportunities for all.”
As the Ontario provincial election approaches on February 27, 2025, Williams encourages all residents of Brampton Centre to exercise their right to vote and support the continued progress and stability that the PC Party promises to deliver.
