A traffic stop in Guelph has led to drug trafficking charges for a Mississauga man and a Brampton man. The incident occurred late Monday afternoon when Guelph Police officers pulled over a vehicle near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
During the stop, officers discovered 34 Dilaudid pills, a powerful painkiller, and $5,155 in cash. The traffic stop was part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation conducted by the Guelph Police’s Break Enter Auto Theft Unit.
The suspects, a 27-year-old man from Mississauga and a 30-year-old man from Brampton, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both individuals are scheduled to appear in court on August 13.
