Shafqat Ali MP Elected Vice-Chair of Canada-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group

Shafqat Ali, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre, was honored to be elected as Vice-Chair of the Canada-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Annual General Meeting held on Thursday. The event marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Canada and Qatar, focusing on peace and diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.

His Excellency Khalid Rashid Al-Mansouri, the Ambassador of Qatar to Canada, attended the meeting and delivered insightful remarks about the evolving Canada-Qatar relations. He highlighted Qatar’s pivotal role in facilitating negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza, underscoring the importance of international collaboration in promoting peace and stability in the region.

  • “I am deeply honored to be elected as the Vice-Chair of the Canada-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group,” stated MP Ali. “This position allows us to further enhance our diplomatic ties and collaborate on crucial issues such as the peace process in Gaza.
