Recent Nanos Research surveys indicate a significant uptick in support for Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, positioning them as the frontrunner among Canadian voters, while the Liberals find themselves in a statistical tie with the New Democrats.
Poilievre’s personal popularity continues on a steep incline, coinciding with his party’s commanding 17-point lead over the federal Liberals in the most recent Nanos tracking.
In terms of the ballot question, Conservatives lead the pack with a notable increase in support over the past month, currently standing at 40.6 percent, while Justin Trudeau’s Liberals experience a decline, now at 23.8 percent. Jagmeet Singh and the NDP observe a slight uptick in support, reaching 21.9 percent.
The desire for a change in leadership emerges as the top recommendation from Canadians to enhance the Liberals’ political prospects, with 39 percent advocating for a new leader. Following closely behind is the suggestion for the Liberals to prioritize economic issues more prominently, garnering 25 percent of the respondents’ support. Conversely, 20 percent believe the Liberals should maintain their current policy priorities, while six percent express skepticism that any strategy could bolster their chances of success. Only three percent endorse Justin Trudeau’s leadership for the forthcoming election.
