Paramount Fine Foods Acquires Mademoiselle Raw Bar & Grill in a Bold Move for Toronto’s Dining Scene

In a significant shakeup for Toronto’s upscale dining and nightlife scene, Paramount Fine Foods has officially taken over Mademoiselle Raw Bar & Grill, the popular King Street destination known for its high-end seafood offerings and vibrant nightlife.

The acquisition was confirmed by a spokesperson for Mademoiselle, marking the departure of Peter Girges and his team, the group previously behind MARBL Steakhouse. This shift signals a new era for the restaurant, which has been a mainstay in Toronto’s entertainment district.

Paramount Fine Foods, founded by Lebanese-Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist Mohamad Fakih, has built a reputation for Middle Eastern cuisine, with a menu featuring shawarmas, BBQ platters, and shish tawouk. With more than a dozen locations across the GTA, the company’s expansion into the fine dining and nightlife sector marks a bold strategic move.

“Paramount Fine Foods has long been a leader in casual and fast-casual dining, but this acquisition marks a new chapter as the company steps into the high-end restaurant and nightlife space,” said a representative from Paramount Fine Foods.

Mademoiselle, located at 563 King St. W., is not only a high-end seafood restaurant but also doubles as an upscale club, attracting a high-profile clientele and becoming one of the busiest venues in the area on weekends.

Currently, there is no official confirmation on whether the menu or interior design of Mademoiselle will change under Paramount Fine Foods’ ownership. The restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Evan Dickinson (formerly of Vertical, Aria, and Crush Wine Bar), features a luxurious seafood-focused menu, offering:

  • Seafood towers, sushi rolls, sashimi, and lobster spaghetti
  • Crab cakes, grilled octopus, and lobster bisque
  • Mains such as wild salmon and premium seafood selections

While the restaurant’s fine dining experience has drawn widespread acclaim, its nightclub component has been a key attraction for Toronto’s social elite, foodies, and nightlife enthusiasts.

The acquisition of Mademoiselle is the latest in a series of changes for Peter Girges’ restaurant group. Last year, MARBL King West announced its departure from the area, moving to the Financial District at 40 Temperance St. The former MARBL location (455 King St. W.) was subsequently taken over by 100 Days, an upscale sports and dive bar concept that previously existed in the city 15 years ago.

While MARBL gained popularity, it was also no stranger to controversy. In 2020, the steakhouse faced backlash for allowing large gatherings during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2024, it stirred further debate over a strict dress code policy prohibiting athletic wear, bathing suits, and men’s side bags.

As Paramount Fine Foods takes control of Mademoiselle, Toronto’s restaurant and nightlife enthusiasts are eager to see whether the luxury seafood concept remains intact or undergoes a rebranding to align with Paramount’s Middle Eastern culinary roots.

With a proven track record of success in the hospitality industry, Mohamad Fakih’s vision for Mademoiselle could set a new benchmark for upscale dining in Toronto.

For further updates, diners and nightlife enthusiasts are encouraged to stay tuned as more details emerge about the future of Mademoiselle under Paramount’s ownership.
