Multimillion-Dollar Drug and Firearm Bust Hits Mississauga, Brampton, and Hamilton

In a recent series of raids spanning Mississauga, Brampton, and Hamilton, law enforcement seized a cache of drugs and firearms valued at over $5 million, leading to the arrest of three individuals on various charges.

The investigation, initiated by the Guelph Police Service in November, targeted a group suspected of trafficking drugs and firearms throughout southern Ontario.

Authorities executed search warrants on three properties, resulting in what officials have described as the largest fentanyl seizure in Guelph police history. The raids yielded a significant haul, including 7 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3.5 kilograms of potent fentanyl, and 5 kilograms of cocaine. Additionally, officers confiscated six Glock handguns with multiple over-capacity magazines, an AR-style rifle, and an SKS semi-automatic rifle, along with ammunition.

The street value of the seized substances amounted to approximately $4.7 million for the fentanyl alone, with the cocaine and methamphetamine estimated at $680,000.

Guelph Police Chief Gord Cobey commended the dedication of law enforcement personnel, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding the community from the dangers posed by illegal weapons and drugs.
