Man with Four Lifetime Driving Bans Arrested Again in Brampton

A 41-year-old Brampton man, previously banned from driving for life on four separate occasions, has been arrested once more. Peel Regional Police’s Safer Roads Team (SRT) took Nirmal Singh into custody on April 11, acting on a warrant issued by the Toronto Police Service (TPS).

Singh faces several charges, including one count of motor vehicle theft, two counts of operating a vehicle while prohibited, and six counts of breaching probation conditions. Following his arrest, he was transferred to TPS custody and is currently awaiting a bail hearing.

This latest arrest could potentially lead to Singh’s fifth driving prohibition. His criminal record includes 35 charges under the Criminal Code and eight under the Provincial Offence Act since 2017. These charges range from operating while prohibited and impaired driving to assault and criminal harassment.

Deputy Chief Marc Andrews of Peel Regional Police emphasized the efforts of the Safer Roads Team: “Our team is dedicated to identifying and apprehending repeat offenders of dangerous driving. We are committed to using every legal avenue available to prevent these individuals from compromising the safety of our community.”

Peel Regional Police urge anyone with information related to incidents of this nature to contact their Road Safety Services SRT at 905-453-2121, ext. 3750, or to reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
