Five Men Charged After Tow Truck Operator Fight in Brampton

Five men are facing charges following a violent altercation involving multiple tow truck operators in Brampton that left three people injured, police say.

The incident occurred on Oct. 31 near Kennedy Road South and Orenda Road. According to Peel Regional Police, officers arrived to find three individuals who had been struck with a metal pole. Two of the victims were also allegedly assaulted with bear spray.

Police announced Friday that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. They were identified as Rishav Chopra, 27; Jashandeep Singh, 34; Harmandeep Singh, 27; Tajinder Chopra, 20; and Varun Aul, 32.

Rishav Chopra faces multiple charges, including uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of administering a noxious substance with intent to cause bodily harm. Jashandeep Singh is charged with uttering threats and three counts of assault with a weapon. The remaining three men each face one charge of assault.

Police said all five were released on undertakings with conditions as the investigation continues.
